Craig brings over 40 years of University policing and public law enforcement experience to our team, having served as the Chief of Police for four universities after serving 29 ½ years with the City of Columbus, OH Division of Police. As Chief for the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, he developed a three-year Strategic Plan, and for The Ohio State University, he served as Incident Commander in a Unified Command working with local, state, and federal public safety agencies for dignitary visits and major special events. Craig has served as a faculty member of Franklin University where he taught undergraduate classes in Criminal Justice and Policing. He has served the community at large, sitting on the OSU Task Force on Community and Well-Being and the City of Columbus Joint Police/Fire/Support Services Planning Team, among others, as well as conducting CALEA accreditation assessments to hold departments to the highest professional standards.
Enhancing safety can be achieved with a unified approach, following best practices and continuous assessment to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations. I am a firm believer in team development, which can result in employees providing a high level of customer service.
