Timothy N. Odom

Tim has more than 20 years of physical security experience, beginning as a POST-certified police officer in Louisiana. He went on to serve in the U.S. Coast Guard conducting maritime law enforcement, search and rescue and anti-terrorism missions; then moved to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Border Patrol, to further his vocation in security management and engineering.  

He concluded his government career as a physical security specialist/program manager for U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Professional Responsibility, where he oversaw national evidence storage security and chain-of-custody for the agency. In this job, he directed the protective management, integrity assurance and disposition of more than 1.5 million pounds of narcotics, 250,000 firearms and $150 million in currency each year.

Tim’s physical security design proficiency focused on facility protective measures, ballistic-resistant barriers, vaults, and mechanical security. His design credits include LAX Tom Bradley International Terminal; the Cross-Border Xpress (CBX) International Crossing; the San Diego Broadway Street Cruise Ship Terminal; and the San Ysidro Land Border Port of Entry, where he is listed on the permanent registry of designers and builders.

Tim earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from National University, San Diego, California. He is accredited as a Federal Law Enforcement Training Center Instructor, a General Services Administration Safe and Vault Technician-Inspector and is a former California institutional locksmith. He is a member of the Associated Locksmiths of America (ALOA), International Association of Investigative Locksmiths (IAIL), Safe and Vault Technicians Association (SAVTA) and the ClearStar Security Network.
