Marilyn W. Hollier, MS, CPP, CHPA

Marilyn is a staff consultant. She has been in the security/law enforcement field for over 35 years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Education from Southern Illinois University and a master’s in Human Resources/Urban Studies from Georgia State University. She is a Certified Protection Professional and a Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator.

Marilyn’s professional experience includes seven years with the Emory University Police Department and nine years as Assistant Director and Acting Director of Public Safety at Grady Health System in Atlanta, Georgia. She retired after seventeen years as the Director of Security Services at the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers.

Under Marilyn’s leadership, UMHHC Security Services doubled in size, expanded its services to the hospital community, became an irreplaceable partner of the healthcare team and developed one of the best hospital security programs in the nation. The department won the coveted IAHSS “Lindberg Bell” award twice for the most advanced healthcare security department nationally.

Marilyn was named one of the Top 30 voices in healthcare security by Security Management magazine. She has been actively involved with IAHSS and ASIS International for many years and has served in numerous volunteer leadership positions.
