Elliot held our industry to the highest standard. He founded SRMC in 1989 and made it his full-time career in 1998, growing SRMC into one of the most trusted security consultancies worldwide.
Prior to SRMC, Elliot received his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University, master’s degree from Central Michigan University and graduated from the FBI National Academy. Elliot honed his talent for maximizing and designing security services while serving as the Director of Protective Services at OhioHealth, Director of Safety and Security at The Ohio State University Hospitals and a police supervisor with The Ohio State University Police Department. Additionally, he held leadership roles with the International Association of Professional Security Consultants and ASIS International.
In his personal life, Elliot never knew a stranger. He was the kind of individual who made a new acquaintance feel like an old friend. Technological advancements and futuristic gadgets were both a love and hobbies of Elliot’s; you could bet that his latest gadget was light-years ahead of the curve. He was passionate about the security industry and advocated for its progress. He was driven and hard-working, always striving to improve himself and ensure the industry was at its highest standard.
It was this drive that ensured those who Elliot chose to work with, and eventually run SRMC, met this high standard. Lynda L. Buel, CPP, CFE, CSC, CPTED Practitioner and Chad Parris, CSC, were hand selected by Elliot to join our team in senior leadership capacities. Lynda’s expertise in senior security management and retail and banking environments on both a local and national scope and Chad’s professional security experience, including physical and technological assessment, system design and planning, made them the right team to lead the firm.
In February 2013, Lynda and Chad took hold of SRMC’s reins; ensuring Elliot’s security consultant legacy endures by continuing to provide high-end security assessments, planning, design, support and training services.
On June 10, 2014, Elliot A. Boxerbaum, the man who set such high standards for SRMC, and for the security industry as a whole, passed away from ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) after a long and courageous fight.
